Audio editing FAQs

Why won't microphone recording start?

Check the browser's microphone permission and selected input device. Close other apps using the microphone and try again. Recording requires a secure browser connection.

Should I export MP3 or WAV?

Choose MP3 (128 kbps) for compact voice files or uncompressed PCM WAV for further editing. Converting compressed audio to WAV does not recover lost quality.

My M4A file won't open.

Audio codecs vary by device and browser. Try converting unsupported files to MP3 or WAV first. Files may be up to 80 MB; exported selections are limited to 3 minutes.

How do I keep only part of the waveform?

Set the start/end times or use the sliders, then preview the selection. Turn on fade in/out to make the beginning and ending gradually louder or quieter.

Can I share a clipped version of someone else's music?

Audio editing capabilities do not grant distribution rights. Verify copyright and permissions before publishing or sharing others' recordings.
